The Iyengar Yoga Method
It is a holistic Yoga path developed by BKS Iyengar, a Master who dedicated 80 years of continuous practice and research. Because his sincere dedication and commitment to this discipline, he was one of the first yoga teachers to expose this ancient art to the western world on 50´s.
Mr. Iyengar was considered as one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century by the Times magazine. He was one of the few teachers who began to implement treatments based on the practice of yoga postures to cure diseases and also he was the first yoga teacher who really committed himself to bring the practice of yoga available to anyone, regardless of their place of origin, social level, occupation, sex, religion, state of health and age.
The practice of this method has as its philosophical foundation the ancient text of Patanjali Yoga Sutras, and in a practical way it is developed through alignment, precision, sequencing, timing, breath technics and the use of elements to help the practitioner to develop a holistic practice.
